GPT-6.1 Sol
GAReleased 2026-09-29 per OpenAI's own API changelog ("Released GPT-6.1 Sol (gpt-6.1-sol) for complex coding and professional work at a lower cost than GPT-6 Astra", tagged v1/responses and v1/chat/completions). Text+image input, text output; 1,050,000-token context, 128,000 max output, Apr 30 2026 knowledge cutoff (same cutoff as GPT-6 Astra, ten days later than GPT-6 Sol's). Standard tier per 1M: $2.00 in / $0.10 cached in / $2.50 cache write / $10.00 out, stated identically on the model page, the pricing page (Standard/Batch/Flex/Fast tables) and the changelog entry. The one rate that differs from GPT-6 Sol is cached input: the model page states "Cached input tokens are priced at 5% of the uncached input token rate" (GPT-6 Sol's is 10%), so the cached field is $0.10 here against $0.20 there; input, cache write and output are identical to GPT-6 Sol. Cache writes are billed at 1.25x the uncached input rate. Prompts with more than 272K input tokens are priced at 2x input and cache rates and 1.5x output for the full request; the price fields carry the <=272K band. Batch and Flex are 50% of Standard; Fast mode is 2x Standard and is unavailable with EU data residency; regional processing adds a 10% premium where available; US and EU data residency are supported. Multi-agent (delegating work to subagents inside a Responses API request) is supported in beta. Use the Responses API for tool calling - Chat Completions is supported without tool calling. Snapshot list on the model page is the bare alias gpt-6.1-sol only; no dated snapshot is published. STATUS: recorded as ga on the same reading as the GPT-6 Sol row - OpenAI's changelog says "Released" and the model page carries no access or rollout qualifier; OpenAI does not use the words "generally available". Lifecycle fields are null: OpenAI states no deprecation for this model. OpenAI announces no deprecation ALONGSIDE this release; the 2026-10-01 deprecations that name gpt-6-sol (not this model) as the replacement for gpt-5.3-codex and gpt-5.1 are recorded on those rows. Found 2026-10-03 via check-price-drift's "priced by OpenAI, not in our catalog" count moving 17 -> 18 (LEARNINGS #143); the four-day delay is ours.
GPT-6.1 Sol by OpenAI costs $2 per 1M input tokens and $10 per 1M output tokens ($4/1M blended), with a 1.1M (1.050.000-token) context window. It is generally available (GA), with a knowledge cutoff of 30 Apr 2026.
