Historical token pricing was approx $1 input / $5 output per 1M while active, but this is NOT confirmed on a current official page (pricing page no longer lists it), so left null rather than guessed. Confirmed via the changelog and the sonar-reasoning-pro model card, which states verbatim that sonar-reasoning was deprecated on December 15, 2025 and directs callers to sonar-reasoning-pro. Both surfaces re-read first-party on 2026-09-20. The models page cited above has moved: docs.perplexity.ai/getting-started/models now redirects to docs.perplexity.ai/docs/sonar/models, which lists Sonar, Sonar Pro, Sonar Reasoning Pro and Sonar Deep Research and carries no sonar-reasoning entry. Tail restored 2026-09-20: this note was cut at exactly 600 characters by an ingest truncation present since the initial commit, and the lost text is unrecoverable from git, so the ending is rewritten from a first-party re-read rather than restored (LEARNINGS #135).
